FCC Transactions from November 4, 2020
In this week's FCC transactions T-Mobile filed one assignment application and four new lease applications for EBS spectrum. The assignment application was for one license in western Virginia, while the new lease applications included call signs in Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Washington. Each of these licenses was previously leased to T-Mobile. IConnect filed an additional assignment application this week for one WCS license and one 700MHz license covering Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. Two weeks ago, iConnect filed to acquire SMR, 700MHz, PCS, and AWS-1 licenses from Choice Phone. The two licenses in the new application are both in the terminating process for not meeting the buildout deadlines. American Wireless filed to lease back the spectrum they assigned to T-Mobile back in August. The public interest statement with this application stated that American Wireless is leasing all of these licenses to continue existing operations until they can transition their existing subscribers to new spectrum bands. In the last application, Great Woods Wireless filed to lease T-Mobile PCS spectrum in parts of 5 Maine counties.
