FCC Transactions from October 21, 2020

In this week's FCC spectrum transactions, Verizon filed to acquire an AWS-1 license from Flat Wireless covering three counties in Texas.  T-Mobile filed to acquire two EBS licenses in Iowa from Iowa Rural TC, one EBS license in New Jersey from Rutgers University and one EBS license in Puerto Rico from Puerto Rico Medical.  The licenses from Iowa Rural TC were not previously leased by T-Mobile, but T-Mobile was leasing the Rutgers license and the Puerto Rico Medical license.  The next group of transactions involve iConnect acquiring SMR, 700MHz, PCS, and AWS-1 licenses from Choice Phone.  In addition, iConnect is acquiring PCS licenses from Wave Runner.  All of these licenses are for spectrum covering Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.  AT&T has filed to acquire four AWS-3 spectrum licenses from Blue Ridge Wireless in the upper midwest and the south.  SoniqWave filed to acquire four additional EBS licenses in New Mexico and Texas.  SoniqWave already leased the New Mexico licenses but the Texas licenses are new to their control.  T-Mobile also filed 4 new lease applications for EBS licenses in Texas and Louisiana.  The two Texas licenses are new to T-Mobile, but the two Louisiana licenses are re-newed leases.  The last two transaction groups involve regional carriers leasing spectrum in partial counties surrounding a national carrier's existing network.  The first group of these transactions involve Commnet and AT&T with three PCS licenses in Utah and the second group involves Inland Cellular and T-Mobile with four PCS licenses in Central Washington.
