US Cellular: What Spectrum Remains?

Below is a broad overview of the spectrum assets USCellular held prior to offering its self for sale (in MHzPOPs) and how those assets have been distributed through acquiring carrier agreements. These values have been taken from USCellular's investor relations presentations and each carrier's press release.

T-Mobile recently received approval to their application to acquire specific spectrum assets from USCellular as outlined here.  Verizon and AT&T have both filed as well to acquire smaller pieces of USCellular's Spectrum Portfolio.  Verizon's tentative spectrum purchase was outlined here in June.  AT&T's application was submitted in March.

To reflect these updated in our spectrum databases, we evaluate all of the individual applications within each of these transfer of control applications to capture the specific callsigns along with any of the geographic or frequency disaggregation's.  Since each of these transfer of control applications also includes a Spectrum Aggregation Chart detailing the carrier's existing spectrum and the spectrum they are acquiring for every country where they are acquiring spectrum.

Given that the Spectrum Aggregation Charts for each of these transactions, reflect the totality of the transaction, we expected that the filed transactions referenced for each transaction would reflect the total transaction as well.

To explore this further, we will look at a couple of frequency bands where 100% of the licenses are moving to a specific carrier.

600MHz - T-Mobile:

This map reflects USCellular's 600MHz licenses that do not have an application filed, transferring them to T-Mobile.

Cellular - Verizon:

The map for USCellular's remaining cellular licenses indicates that there are only 3 markets licenses that do not have an application filed to transfer them to Verizon.

In the last set of maps we are going to highlight the mobile carrier spectrum bands that USCellular is retaining a majority of their original spectrum assets.
