FCC Transactions From June 30, 2021
In this week's spectrum transactions, T-Mobile filed to acquire 2 EBS licenses and 1 BRS licenses. T-Mobile is purchasing the BRS license and a EBS license in North Dakota from Polar Communications while the other EBS license is being purchased from Spectrum Broadband providing spectrum in Michigan. Spectrum Broadband is not associated with Charter Communications. SoniqWave Networks also filed to acquire an EBS license covering Yuma, AZ from Beamspeed. In the remaining assignment transaction, Dickey Rural Telephone Cooperative is receiving 4 - 28GHz licenses in four different North Dakota counties from SRT Communications. The last transaction includes Atlantic TeleNetwork (ATNI) acquiring all of Alaska Communications Internet's CBRS - PAL licenses in Alaska. ATNI's purchase of Alaska Communications Internet was announced back in February 2021 but at that time only microwave and two-way radio licenses were announced. Below the transactions list is a map indicating the CBRS spectrum depth for Alaska Communications Internet, followed by a map of ATNI's CBRS spectrum in Alaska. There was a discussion in the application that this transaction will put ATNI over the 40MHz CBRS threshold in the Kenai Peninsula market, so ATNI will need to sell 10MHz of spectrum to become compliant.
